Description of Classes

Children learning music in The Music Makers classes don't feel pressured to perform and don't feel evaluated or judged.  Our lessons are based on the philosophy of Carl Orff and the American Orff Schulwerk Association that children learn best by experiencing musical elements through singing, moving, dancing, playing instruments, and improvisation.  In our classes, children learn to keep a steady beat, match pitch, be creative and self-expressed, improvise, accompany and participate in group music making.  Classes include creative movement, action songs, instrument playing, musical games, poetry, and singing along with the ukulele. Beautiful, diverse songs, singable phrases, repetition with variety, the use of instruments, puppets and visuals all foster the love of music in an exciting and creative environment.
