Private & Group Lessons Open To The Public:
Beginner Ukulele Classes - Ages 8 and up - 10 week session
Kathy and Justin from The Music Makers will teach participants how to tune, strum, and play basic chords on this fun, little instrument. The ukulele has become popular recently as it is being used in today’s popular music. It’s easy to learn so even those with no prior music experience can be successful. Participants will be playing songs right away giving them confidence in their music making abilities. Some practice outside of the class will be necessary. An approved ukulele and tuner will need to be purchased for this class. Learning the ukulele is an easy and fun way for families to share and make music together. We love to see parents learning with their children so a discount is always given for parents.
Introduction To Ukulele Classes - Ages 5 to 7 years - 10 week session
These classes are designed to give young children a fun and positive first experience with a musical instrument. Students will learn how to hold and strum the ukulele and some basic technique. They will learn five chords and twelve songs. They will not have to learn to tune the ukulele, we will do that for them in each class. Purchasing a tuner is optional but recommended if a parent would like to learn how to tune the ukulele. Children will receive songs to play along with at home but no practice at home will be required. Students will
not be ready to take the Beginner Classes until they are 8 years old. An approved ukulele will need to be purchased for this class.
