Music for Little Ones was founded in 1993 by Kathleen Bellavia. After looking at franchise options she decided to maintain her creative freedom and the high quality of a small company by developing her own program.
This program was successfully implemented in a number of schools, studios, and community centers in central Florida and the greater Charlotte area. Lessons were offered to ages 1 to 5 years. She also wrote curriculum for and taught music, science, and art camps for ages 3 to 7.
Somewhere along the way Kathleen discovered the Music Rhapsody program and founder, Lynn Kleiner, and it felt like a perfect fit. She began to incorporate Lynn's lessons into her teaching.
In 2017, Kathleen's son, Justin, decided to join the company. They went through the Music Rhapsody training and became licensed through that company. They have since added lessons for additional age groups including infants, school aged children and ukulele classes for adults. So a name change became necessary. Inspired by the poem called
"Ode" by Arthur O'Shaughnessy, the name was changed to
The Music Makers in 2018.
